It takes about 60 seconds. You've watched your son sit in a classroom where the only outlet for his energy is recess, and recess keeps getting shorter. You've seen what happens when a young man with talent and drive gets put in a building that treats sports as a reward instead of a tool. He checks out. He acts out. He starts believing the thing the school seems to be telling him: that who he is doesn't fit here. Cleveland Sports Academy was built because that's wrong. What the school day looks like
The school day runs Monday through Friday on a traditional schedule. Your son starts the day with a free breakfast. The academic program is individualized; teachers know where he is and adjust instruction to match. Social-emotional learning isn't a separate class. It runs through everything: the way coaches teach resilience on the track, the way teachers hold students accountable in the classroom, and the way this building expects young men to set goals and meet them.Athletics aren't after school. They're school.
Intramural sports rotations run each semester. Your son doesn't just play one sport. He trains across multiple disciplines, building the athleticism, coordination, and competitive instinct that come from variety. When he's ready, competitive teams are there: basketball and track and field, with more sports added as the school expands. Practices, games, and training sessions happen at facilities accessed through the school's partnership with Tri-C. This isn't a gym class. It's a program. The building stays open
Free before- and after-school care is provided. Academic tutoring and homework support run as part of extended programming. School-based counseling and wellness supports are available. Free summer sports camps keep your son training, competing, and connected to the school community between June and August. When school is out, the academy isn't.What it costs: nothing.
